Gorgeous amber color and swirl glass pattern make this bottle an eye catcher. It is 13.5" tall and stamped with the Owens Illinois stamp that predates 1954 on bottom. The diamond going through the oval mark helps to date this bottle.
The founder of the Owens Illinois company invented the automatic bottle making machine in 1903 to do large scale bottle making.
This company would stamp their products with the plant code to the left of the symbol on the bottom and the date code to right of the symbol. This jug has a "7" stamped to the right, dating it to 1937 and the "4" on the left shows that this jug was made in Clarksburg, WV.
This bottle would be a stunner on a fall table but would really make a beautiful focal point any time of year.
